We have photographed weddings at Redhouse Barn and love how much variety it packs in. Two very different barns, gardens and a koi pond mean every part of the day has its own backdrop, and it is only a short drive from our home in Bromsgrove.

About Redhouse Barn

Redhouse Barn is on Shaw Lane, Stoke Prior, just south of Bromsgrove, and is an approved premises for civil ceremonies. It is offered on an exclusive-use basis. According to the venue, ceremonies take place in the Redbrick Barn, which has exposed beams and holds up to 105 guests, and outdoor ceremonies are also available. The Timber Barn seats up to 165 for the wedding breakfast, with a larger capacity for the evening.

The venue lists a dressing room available from the morning, a honeymoon suite overlooking the gardens and koi pond, some guest accommodation and in-house catering. It also welcomes receptions following church weddings nearby. Please confirm current capacities and arrangements with the venue.

The Redbrick Barn

Exposed beams and warm lighting make ceremony photographs rich and atmospheric. Barns can be darker than people expect, so we use fast lenses and position ourselves to catch the light from doors and windows on your faces.

The Timber Barn

A large space for the wedding breakfast and speeches. We photograph the room set up before guests arrive, then focus on reactions during speeches, working from both sides of the room.

Gardens and koi pond

The gardens are where we take most couple portraits. Planting, paths and the water give us plenty of options within a few steps, and we can easily nip out between courses or at sunset.

Preparations

With a dressing room from the morning, we often begin at the venue. The honeymoon suite also offers a lovely calm space for final details.

Ceremony

In the Redbrick Barn, one of us is at the front to see your faces and one at the back for the aisle and the room. If you choose an outdoor ceremony, we check the sun's position for your time.

Group photographs

The gardens and barn frontage work well for groups. We gather people efficiently with a pre-agreed list so the drinks reception keeps its relaxed feel.

Couple portraits

Fifteen to twenty minutes in the gardens after groups, and a short return at golden hour if the timings allow.

Evening

As the Timber Barn turns into a party, we photograph the first dance and the dance floor with a mix of ambient light and discreet flash.

Changing weather

Having two barns gives us indoor choices if it rains, and covered doorways are ideal for portraits. We bring umbrellas and watch for breaks in the clouds.
